Welcome to Our Wedding Weekend

We are excited for a weekend of celebration, laughter and love. We’re thrilled to have you join us for our special day. We’ll be celebrating under open skies, among forest pathways, and around a fire or two.

When and Where?

The Silver Sixpence Wedding Venue, Dullstroom

7th – 9th of March 2025

General Timelines

We’ll be celebrating all weekend at the venue, which has trout dams for fly fishing and scenic trails if you want to take a walk. If you want to explore beyond the grounds, Millies is just a 15-minute drive away, and Dullstroom about an hour.
But here are some important times to remember:

Friday evening: Kicks off "officially" at 17:30 - But you are welcome to come earlier if you want to do some fishing first!

Saturday: Please arrive at 14:30 for 15:00 - Just note it is about a 15 min walk to the ceremony area, so please arrive timeously.

Staying on the venue?

  • You can check in anytime from 10:00 onwards on the Friday (or as arranged).
  • Checkout is strictly 12:00 on Sunday.


    • As much as this weekend is for a wedding, we also want you to relax. So feel free to sleep in, wander off, do some fishing, or go grab some breakfast on the Saturday morning.

    Venue Rules

    No Smoking in the Forest

  • Smoking (including e-cigarettes and cigars) is strictly prohibited in or near the forest:
    The forest is a high fire-risk area. Anyone found smoking there will be asked to stop immediately, and the venue reserves the right to take additional safety measures (e.g., stopping the ceremony to water down the walkway).
  • Designated Smoking Area:
    Please use only the assigned outdoor fireplace area, where sand buckets are provided for proper disposal of cigarette butts.
  • No smoking (including e-cigarettes and cigars) in the hall, or on the patio area of the venue. Please ONLY smoke or vape at designated smoking areas.



    • Fires in Designated Spots Only

  • Fires are allowed only in the venue’s designated fireplaces.
  • Venue staff are solely responsible for lighting and managing the fires; guests must not add firewood or start fires elsewhere.
  • Outdoor fireplaces will be extinguished by staff at the specified times.
  • Outside fires may not be re-lit under any circumstances after they have been put out.



    • Fishing

  • Fly Fishing ONLY - The venue has stocked trout dams on site.
  • No spinners, pap, bread, or bait— barbless hooks only.
  • Catch-and-release.
  • No swimming in the dams.
  • No fishing in the top dam.



    • Closing Times & Gate Locking

  • Friday end time: 23:00.
  • Saturday end time: 00:30.
  • Gate Locks on Sunday AM at: 01:15 - All guests not staying at the venue must have left the venue by this time.



    • Bar Tabs (Cashless Venue)

  • The bar operates on a tab system and accepts card or electronic payments only.
  • Outside alcohol is not permitted on the property (including in vehicles). If outside alcohol is found, a fee may be charged.
  • Please open and settle your individual tab directly with the bar staff before leaving for the night.



    • Parking

  • Vehicles may be parked in the designated parking area only.
  • No cars may be driven onto the lawns, forest paths, or other non-road areas.
